Manual

I have a 2008 Honda Sport Fit. My son would be more than happy to do at least some of the work that I will need to have done but the only manual I can find is $125 dollars? Any suggestions?

Will him doing the work save you at least $125? If so, then I'd suggest buying the service manual.

Might want to check the GD forum instead of the GE. it says 08+ in the thread title but it's misleading for US owners. The 08 in the US is not the same as the 09 but in Japan, the GE was sold as a 2008 model year.

^^ Ditto.

For what its worth though, here is a link that lists some of material in the Honda Service Manual for the GD chassis Honda Fit/Jazz. Please note that this is not specifically for the 2008 USDM Fit but for the EDM/JDM spec models but some material does apply to the US models.

Thanks

I am really new to this type of forum and I didn't know what GD & GE meant so I'll try the GD forum. Thanks specboy.

Hootie: my son is a JEEPFREAK and has consented to do the everyday stuff on my Fit and wanted to know all the spots he should put lubrication so he didn't miss any. I really appreciate the website and it might be helpful for other things but wouldn't let me into the lubrication of systems area. Thank you.

feddup: Should I look in the GD or GE forum for used service manuals? I'll try search. Thanks for the help.

You did fine posting in the GD forum. Now you need to patient as they come up for sale about monthly. Keep checking ebay too. I got one for $40 right here as I'm too cheap to pay $125. My fit is an 08 like yours but i got an 07 manual as the differences are VERY few (TPMS and minor wiper changes). good luck and be patient.

Lubrication? Cars haven't had grease fittings in a long time- there's oil to be changed, stuff like that, but he won't need a service manual for that. Same for door hinges, etc.

Still keeping my eye out for a manual. I am checking the "classifieds". Is there anywhere else I should check on this site?

I hope you getting the manual from Honda and not from Helm or Chiltons.
