Minor noise

Hey, 2010 Fit DX and I'm noticing a small noise like a tap on the windshield as I hit mild bumps in the road. The windshield wipers seem to stick to the windshield, so I'm wondering if the sound is just the seal breaking. I don't see any movement, and I looked behind the glove box in case the issue with the A/C cable on the <= 2008 model was the same here, but it's not.

It's a small annoyance issue, and I could just turn up the radio, but when I prefer quiet it's kind of annoying. Anyone else notice anything similar?

Thanks.

There's a piece of plastic trim at the lower sides of the windshield on the outside. This is part of the removable cowl for engine service. This trim has some foam padding on the back against the glass but may not extend all the way to the end.

The sound of plastic tapping on glass is quite annoying, ain't it?

Get some weather stripping and pad this part all the way.

Some people (me) glued it down with clear silicone caulk but that's not necessary.

Well, I tried some weatherstripping under that, and the sound I'm hearing didn't go away. I don't think that's it.

It sounds like it could be from under the dash. Not sure...

This sounds crazy but do you have anything hanging from your rear-view mirror like a plastic parking permit or sunglasses on the visor or anything plastic in the storage area in front of the gear shift?

I started getting all these weird buzzes and sounds that I swear that was coming from the dash area.....sure enough once I removed all the mentioned above...voila! No more rattles or buzzes

Weird but true lol

Nope, nothing. I think it's on the front-right side in from of the passenger seat near the windshield. Maybe trim rubbing on trim. Doesn't say much for the build quality.

Steve Im having this same problem. Did you have to pop of the cowling or was yours that loose? Do you know if honda has a perm fix? I was justing what happens if i take liquid foam will that work? sorry a lot of question but this sound is annoying.

It pries out easily. I forget if I used the blade of a screwdriver (probably) or just my fingers.

Liquid foam sounds messy (probably more messy than silicone caulk). Use an inch long piece of adhesive backed weather stripping foam insulation from Home Depot.

I don't think Honda has addressed this. It's not a big issue.
