Bluetooth adapter in USB port?

I'm loving the USB audio interface (2011 Fit Sport, all stock) and am hoping to hack some extra functionality out of it. I'm specifically wondering if I'll be able to toss a USB Bluetooth adapter in and use the A2DP profile to stream music from my phone (HTC Nexus One), especially something like Pandora. It feels like a bit of a long shot, but I can always just use the adapter for my home PC if not in my Fit.

Has anyone tried this out?

The radio isn't that slick.

The problem with a USB based Bluetooth is that it requires whatever it is plugging into to have software for it. The HU does not.

On a computer, you can install the software for all the profiles and everything else needed to communicate WITH and THROUGH the device. The HU cannot.

After a tad more research, that's pretty much the conclusion I had reached. Now I just have to decide if I'm happy with my Nexus One car dock + an analog audio cable, or if I'm going to want to go with an aftermarket Bluetooth stereo interface. Decisions, decisions...

Aftermarket stereo is the way to go imo. You get so much more when you upgrade your radio. I hesitated on changing out my HU but have no regrets, even though I spent more than I had planned. Having BT,better iPod integration, and SAT radio are great! You get can a radio with BT/Audio streaming for a very reasonable price and install it yourself.

since you're not using an iphone, it seems you should look for a headunit that does BT A2DP and BT AVRCP.
