2011 fit sport check engine light

I have a 2011 fit sport with 10k miles. The only mods are lowering springs and a twp throttle controller. This week my check engine light started to come on and the dash shows that it is the vehicle stability system. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if there is a service recall on it. I just keep resetting my ecu until I can get into Honda. Thanks for the answers.

Have you read the codes? If you are getting both the vsa light and the cel at the same time, my gut guess would be that you damaged a sensor or wire when you installed the springs.

^^ditto on sensor wire^^ pull codes is the sure way - all else is guessing. Some auto supply stores will do it for free.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't think I had done anything wrong when I installed the springs but it makes sense. Is this something I can fix myself as I'm sure I voided my warranty

You've got to identify the problem before you can 'fix' it. Pulling codes will get you on track. You do know about the OBDII codes, don't you? I doubt you've voided the warranty.

Here's something else, is the CEL flashing? then it's 'emissions' related. Have you checked the gas cap? A loose cap will trip the CEL. As well as the wire having been wacked there's a lot of other possibilities.

Have the code read to be sure.

My guess would be its the throttle controller causing it.

It's a solid cel. I'm going to get the codes read when I stop working 12 hour shifts. I didn't think the controller would trip the vsa cel. This car is too new coming from a 97 prelude. I have lots to learn

It's a pretty quick learning curve. I came off a 96 Sedan Deville. That CEL will tell you or a tech all you need to know.
