11k on the clock and I can fathom a guess that by 25K I may need a new windshield...besides having a massive windshield it is as soft as chit....almost every little pebble leaves a chip

Glass Polish is an option if you have any shallow scratches or marks. However, if you have deep chips and pits, windshield replacement will be your only option.

I find that the front end of my Fit absorbs so much more debris than my old car. I imagine the angle of the front end has something to do with this. Where my previous car's windshield deflected larger bugs/moths/pepples, I feel the angle of the Fit is more prone to absorbing impact and taking damage.

Although pits and chips are normal and to be expected, a cracked windscreen is a hazard to be taken care of as soon as possible. Be proactive and get in touch with your insurance or an autoglass shop should you notice the development of a potential emergency.
