If I wanted a wheel that would just simply swap w/ the oem sport wheels (16") and wanted to keep the same tires for now, would this work?
Would I need any extra parts to make it fit?

lug pattern should be 4x100

 

that won't fit because the rim size isn't the same as your stock

 

if you want to reuse your tires, you need a 16" wheel with 4x100 lug pattern

 

They should work just fine. If you are super low, you may rub a tiny but, but with the stock tires, not likely. You will have a slight stretch going from the stock width (5.5") to 7", but not bad at all. Ideal offset would be around -42, but 7mm (3.5 out) is not much.

 

16x6 or 16x7 4x100 BC and hub bore to fit BUT ABSOLUTELY 45 mm offset minimum and 52 mm maximum.. Check tirerack.com and discounttiredirect for best prices.

Please define offset for me. I'm confused what would a 7mm difference in offset do or not do?

 

Also could you tell me if you think the wheels in the pics are 16" or 17"?

I.e. I want this car...swift springs are waiting to be installed...all that's missing is the wheels.

 

35 offset is too low as well, but not crazy. Can easily be pulled off. Unless you are going hellaflush, then you got a whole new ballgame.

 

Did no one else catch the fact that his wheels are 33 lbs a piece? That seems insane to me considering stock wheel is around 20 lbs or so.....I think you should consider different rims because you're adding a lot of inertial weight to your wheels :P.

But more on topic...if you want swift springs, and those wheels with that offset, you're going to rub for sure. (There are also a bajilion threads on this in the forums as well, if you bothered looking. The offset is pretty damn low...For a definition of offset, check here:

You could have also just as easily googled "wheel offset" and it would have given you 123123123123 sites to tell you the answer as well. Sometimes doing a little work instead of admitting complete ignorance does a lot.

 

Even if I wasn't a performance oriented person I wouldn't want to be hauling those boat anchors around.

here's something to aim for using 16" wheels and stock ride height.

Wheels with:
16x6 to 16x7 size
Offset ET 50 to 42 <= very important not to make car look like a 4x4...!!!
Lug pattern (PCD): 4x100mm
Center bore diameter: 56mm

Def. heavy though. And combined with the swift springs, thing will basically rub all the time with that offset.

OP: With the swift springs, keep the offset at 42 or less (-42 to -52). However, a 7" wide rim with a -52 offset will probably rub on the struts up front.

 

Correction, +42 to +52 just for the OP's sake.

 

I don't know why everyone is saying +42 is the limit lol. My wheels are +40 and I'm running 195/55/16's and no rubbing issues at all. I think that there are a few others around here who are running similar specs and don't have any issues either.

 

as far as weight goes, it could be dimensional weight not physical weight.

 

I think these are Motegi SX5s, which should be 17-18 lbs. I probably wouldn't chance an ET35 because I'm sure it would rub on mine, although maybe he could get away with it on Swifts. He could always roll fenders/camber.

 

depends on the look you want, the ride height, tires of choice. for the novice it's better to keep it on the conservative side.

also some tires have bigger shoulders than others so 195 on your tire might be narrower or wider than others. also the width of the wheel will also play a big role how wide the tire shoulders are when mounted.

etc. etc. so it goes like that. been modding cars for a long time and suspension/wheel/tires are one of my specialties.

To be honest.. you REALLY are best off researching and figuring all of this out for yourself first. Someone linked a site earlier..but here is the **Site I used. All the info you could want and its really not hard. The tire size calculator near the bottom of the page is VERY usefull.

Having said that, I know from experience 205/40 on 16x7+40 will NOT rub. I was lowered on Tein springs..lower than swifts. If you use your oem tires (and there will be some stretch) you might not rub even with 16x7+35. if you do, it should be minimal.
