Honda or Weathertech rubber floor mats?

Since I just bought my new Fit and I'm going to try and keep it in the best shape I can, I'm debating which floor mats I should buy. The weathertech ones look nice because they seem to cover more carpet, however I like how the Honda ones because they say "Fit" on them.

I know, its a difficult decision right!?!?! ( O us Americans )

Anyways, I would appreciate insight or pics if you have!

Here's the link to both...

those weathertechs seem to protect more real estate. How messy do you plan on getting in your car? The Fit ones are cheaper and therefore probably, well cheaper.
I don't know why any of these mats are so damn expensive. Just don't buy the $200 cloth mugen mats. Honda must love people who buy those.

Free bump, and I'll tell you the factory Honda *carpet mats were disappointing. They show wear pretty easily.

I got Honda all season mats thrown in when I bought my Fit. If I had to do it over? I'd of angled for a different "freebie" and gotten Weathertechs. The Honda Mats are "okay" but IMO have worn too quickly. Yeah it's neat that it says "Fit" but I guarantee in less than a year with the wear, it will say "it"..because the "F" will have worn away...

Do both! Use the Weathertech mats to protect the OEM floor mats!

No comparison, WeatherTech are far superior mats. Just be sure to get the DigitalFit mats not the all weather ones. Better fit, hold more dirt and water, easier to clean and protect much more carpet area. 3 year warranty as well. Order from HandA.com and you'll get free shipping. $170 for the set is not cheap but consider it a lifetime purchase and money well spent.

The Weathertech mats for sure. They work great handling the slop of upstate New York winters.

One caution: when you get yours, check the cut edges, especially at the corners. they can be a bit rough, and might need a bit more trimming/smoothing. I didn't, and the mat edge wore a hole in my carpet.

the oem all seaon mats are soft. if your car is MT you might wear out where your left heel is. i went through 2 sets (quite literally) when i had the GD. lol

If you can, I suggest getting just the OEM ones in the back and the weathertech ones in the front. The weathertech ones are infinitely in the front, especially in the rain/snow. But they suck in the back because they don't cover as much area as the OEM ones do (the OEMs are longer, and ride under the front seats, whereas the weathertech ones don't, but cover the sides and the middle "island"). Just my 2 cents.

Don't be lazy on the clutch and this won't happen

I'M JOKING.... it doesn't even matter with electronic clutch you can't feel anything anyway, I do the same thing lol

I did rub through the OEM carpet a little bit where my right foot goes (13k miles), I just can't stand floor mats and wish the carpet was stronger but oh well.

LOL it's ok, I just always was taught and found that clutch engagement with cable clutch cars was much smoother when you don't use your heel as a fulcrum.

Dead pedal -----> Clutch -----> Dead pedal

I would never put my left foot on the floor.

Anyways /threadjack

oh i see. yah, no my heel is my partial pivot point. i shift A LOT. up and downshift heel and toe all the time. but that's not really the problem cause ive not had this issue on other mats on other cars. the mats i have on my G35C are over 6yrs old. no issue.

the material they used on the all seaons mats and pedal covers are very soft.

I totally agree with this. Kept my rear Honda all weathers and got Weathertech for the fronts as well. My carpet wore a hole in it within 11 k miles by the front tranny hump- so I am hoping the higher sides of the weathertech will protect better.
