service intervals

I've been changing oil for 50 yrs so I'll keep doing the same on this new Fit. 5000 miles between changes using full synthetic. How many miles should I go before changing the Honda 'break in oil'? Conditions around here are pretty extreme in the summer, lot's of dust. Nowhere in the owners manual can I find suggested service intervals.

One day of driving on our dirt road.

The suggested service interval is whenever the MM gets to 15-0% or 1 year. For most people, that's about 10k, but variable depending on driving conditions. As to how far before you change the break in oil, I recommend changing when the MM gets to 15%.

And FWIW, this topic has been beat to death.

Change the oil when the MM says to, simple as that. Honda recommends running the factory fill oil full cycle for proper engine break-in. I'm averaging 9K miles on oil changes, I'm 30% on the second change, closing in on the third.

Is it just me, or is that fit super sexy with all that dirt on it?
