Weird dome (overhead) light behavior

Replace a burned out bulb in the dome light. The very same day, the thing starts acting erratic. When you open the door (with the switch set in the proper position), sometimes the light comes on and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't come on, moving the switch to "on" doesn't turn it on. Until it wants to.

I'm going to go out today when my wife gets home from church and spruce up the contacts, but any other ideas on this?

Thanks!

Joe

Reseat the bulb then recheck as you already planned on doing. Not much else left to do.

new bulb could be bad.

The hot wire is constant on I believe, and ground is switched, either through a control unit or the switch on the dome light itself. If the new bulb isn't bad, the hot circuit must be interrupted at some point. Bad fuse (but not completely burned out)?
