Sometimes when doing hard launches its better to burn tires than clutch so it would do a bit of wheel hop before letting go... I guess just another part of wear items lol

Otherwise runs good right now...

Good post MiMi1! I'm sure it was a conspiracy somewhere! Nonetheless a medal of valor and perseverance to you. Thanks for the FYI!

so the flywheel didn't need re-surfacing? man, that clutch thing is positive news.. that you didn't wear it out that much on 132k miles

i wonder how often this happens to our fits.. i have a manual and now iam kinda scared.. i thought manuals were supposed to be basically maintenance free.

after 136k of hard driving, im actually quite impressed with how this clutch has held up. Under normal conditions, this thing could last a loooong time. Thanks for the pics!

Yeah burning the tires is always better than cooking the clutch but wheel hop is worse than either. It places a severe shock load on the drivetrain.

new disc seems to be more kevlar, springs are more tan then orange, and the old one isnt supposed to be blue! lol but even after 60k miles the pressure plate had marks from the throw out bearing. i NEVER KEEP MY FOOT ON THE CLUTCH! the throw out bearings on our cars just have a bad seat and will tend to chew the fingers on the pressure plate. the friction disc material was still near oem thickness, i replaced all the pieces with new 2011+ fit parts, and had my flywheel lightened with a rough surface left on it. (the friction disc catches hard on it) i ran the stock clutch master cylinder for near 45k miles, i did the clutch delay valve delete using a 98 civic master cyl. (picked up for 24$) now my clutch grips, its rather hard to slip hahah
