Arghh!!! How to replace Door Glass?

So im driving home today and some transfer truck next to me shoots a rock or somehting into my passenger door window Its completely smashed, but at least the tint is kind of holding it together (it was pouring down rain to boot).

Anyway, does anyone know anything about replacing the glass in the door? i'm assuming the top trim has to be removed and it slides in from the top then secured after removing the inside panel?

If anyone has done this please let me know. Also if you have a repair manual that describes the process and you can send me a scan I would be forever grateful!

sorry to hear. if worse comes to worse, you can always take the opposite door apart to see how it comes together.

Turn it in under the comprehensive on your car insurance policy.

They will not only pay for the new window plus installation, but also for the tint, if you have a receipt for it.

Unfortuanly no specific glass covarage and my deductable is prob higher than the damage anyway.

On a brighter note, I found the Electronic Honda Fit Repair Manual and the job does not look that bad at all. Only problem is my doors are sealed and have three layers of different sound deadening materials on them, what fun!

Also found 2009 Honda OEM door glass at a local junk shop for $65.

You have to remove the door panel. Then undo the bolts. The ones that connect the glass to the glass holder. And the bolts that holds the glass in place on the slider off to the side? Once you do that you can shimmy it out and put another one in. Theres a YouTube video on it. And honda jazz manual online. Warning its gonna be a lot of shimmying. Just try to get the glass as vertical as possible.
