who put a RSB on a base fit?

Very sorry if this has been covered, I searched and could not find specifics on this. I would really like to hear from people who drove the base for a while Before doing the mod. Does it really corner better? Does it make the car rougher on bumps?

Some good info on this here:

There's another thread as well, but I can't find it right now.

I drove my stock base for about a year before adding a Progress RSB. Single best handling mod you can make. You will feel the difference immediately. From cornering, to straight-line stability on freeways, even to heavy braking because things aren't swaying right and left. No downsides like you can find when installing springs (rougher, bouncier ride, etc.). Do it.

I drove my base for about 6 months before adding the progress bar. I agree that it' s one of the best things that you can do to the base. Huge improvement for not a lot of money. Do it.

Rear sway bars are awesome, I'm not arguing that.

However, there actually is a downside, you're linking up the left and right suspension, so you lose some of that independent suspension. Bumps normally only felt on the left side will be transferred to the right side, and vice versa. That translates to diminished ride quality.

Anyway, it's pretty much negligible in my opinion. Just saying that it's not really "no downsides."

Thumbs up Newbie

Hello all

Don't mean to hyjack a thread but I am 100% new to honda. Just bought my taffeta white 2012 MT base about a month ago. I am coming from a MKII jetta that had 315k. Are there any other RSB options other than progress? Lastly,The Progress website only lists for 2009-2011... Is this an issue?

Happy Turkey day!!!

I think the best price is clubrsx.com for 149 w/free shipping. Its says 09-present on there. There are other options but they cost more and the fit isnt real independent suspension in the rear so they say the progress bar works fine.

Agreed, is a great mod. There was some very minor changes in the rear of the 2011s & the Progress bar banged on underside due to lack of clearance. The modified it & the 2nd one fit fine. I know cause I inadvertantly ended up being their guine pig. Not sure about the 2012, but I pretty certain that Progress will know -- they surely don't want to make the same mistake twice.

Had the bar on my 2012 base for about 2 weeks now, haven't had any problems yet. Seems to handle better on curves and feels more stable on the highway. The ride might be a lil bumpier but not much. Good mod

"Seems to handle better on curves" pretty much sums it up. The expected performance simply not worth the price IMO. I had expected more but I was disappointed.

I had installed Hotchkis Sways on my C6 Corvette, which came with factory upgraded (autocross/roadracing)Z51 suspension, now, the performance improvement was dramatic!!!

Granted, Honda Fit is no where near a Corvette, but suspension is suspension, I had expected some kind of improvement but it is insignificant to me, to say the least.

progress rear sway bar.

I also added the progress bar, an excellent product. Getting rid of the factory bicycle wheels will help too, I changed to 205-50-16's from 175-65-15's. The car moved around a lot above 60 mph, now it is very stable.
