37 MPG, 75+ MPH, 205/50-16 DWS's

Can anyone with any brand 205/50/16 tires tell me if they feel the extra weight of the wider tire at all? Circumferential acceleration difference?
I would like to retain the 185/55/16's light and responsive feeling.

I replaced my stock Bridgestones with 205/50/16 Sumitomos. I can't notice a difference in acceleration, and I'm sensitive to this sort of thing (I keep the car free of junk so that it's as light as possible). If there was a drop in gas mileage it was too small for me to notice, although I don't keep careful records. Handling did suffer somewhat, however. The car felt less nimble. But that could simply be because of tire design, or deeper tread than on my worn Bridgestones, and not necessarily because of the switch to a wider tire.

205/50/16 Comti DWS here. The 205/50/16 is a perfect fit on the Fit. Very positive. If anything it returned the original drive feel to the car - minus the harshness and a bit of the road noise. The duns had 31K miles on them and were running hard.
There's no difference in acceleration that I can feel, the size difference is minimal and has not affected the speedo at all.
Regarding the weight, don't assume the choice you make will weigh a whole lot more than the OEM. The 205/50/16 Conti is .5# heavier/tire than the 185/55/16 Dun. Hardly something you'll notice. Other choices can/will weigh over 2#/tire more. This you might feel.
The weight was a major factor in my decision. Next was revolutions/mile. Try and match that to the OEM and you're good to go. Each brand is a bit different within any given size, so look close.
