Battery Question for 2009 Fit
Had a oil change done at the dealer yesterday and they told me they tested the battery, it was 183 CCA. They said the battery is out of warranty because my mileage is 59,954. They recommended I buy the Honda 100 month limited warranty battery from them for $110.00. I am going to take it to Autozone today and have it tested again. My question is, should I buy the Honda battery, and if so, can I purchase it elsewhere for a better price with the same and or better warranty? I also saw some posts on here that a lot of the 2009 batteries were defective. This is the original battery that came with the car when purchased in July 2009. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.{ Recently we left the lights on for about 5 mins and had to get a jump, it wouldn't start.}
3 years, 60k miles, is better than average for any car battery.
Autozone sells a replacement in the correct size, but for $132.00.
I'd get the Honda battery for $110.00, but I'd shop around to see if anyone would sell it for less. Majestic sells it for $70 but won't ship due to hazardous acid. Maybe print out the Majestic price list and negotiate with the Honda service manager.
They're both overpriced. In the case of Autozone you get an 8 year pro-rated warranty (3 year free replacement).
