Most definitely MT fluid needs to be changed regardless if opening the case to swap out a clutch. It can see more heat than the engine oil, in fact older Honda manuals were filled with 10W-30 oil. Honda then made their MTF and is now on their 4th formulation of it. You may even find some Honda dealers stateside who will fill the manual with motor oil instead of proper MTF. Honda's formulation is essentially a 70W-80MTF. Though that weight is still on par with a 10W-30 motor oil, just doesn't have the additives of a MTF.

I'm just amazed at the lack of maintenance done by some people. I change my MTF at least once per year, if I was attacking circuits even more, it would be 2 or 3 times per year.

Just saw this and would like to give my opinion. to me i hate AT just because once it breaks down, its a pain to fix and cost allot to repair. And that in AT it is easy to ruin your transmission depending how you drive it. All in my experience.
MT to me is the only thing that is good to me. were i have more control. instead of having to worry about gears slipping in AT. and the fit is a small engine so replacing clutch...etc.. shouldn't be too hard. thats wat i guess. as I did with my Civic si a 2.0L wasn't really difficult. other than its FWD and i guess not much room but other than that its fine.
btw im only 19 soo....
well imo if you have money to burn do what every transmission you like
if your young idk i guess MT cause in my position im broke and i dont mind fixing my car. -_-

Sorry the picture on my post above isn't very big or clear, but it completely answers the question if you can see it.

You can buy entire AT or MT for the GE or The GD for well under $500...
