09 sport/non-sport rear hatchback door trade?

Hello everyone. I'm hoping to find someone who wants to trade rear hatchback doors with me. I have an '09 Fit Sport model, black, with the spoiler at the top of the rear hatchback door. The spoiler makes it impossible to put a normal bike rack on the car (and removing the spoiler causes a variety of other problems), so I'm hoping that someone out there with a non-sport model wants a spoiler and is willing to trade rear doors with me. Any advice on how to find that person?
Thanks so much,
David

Cool

This is a good place to start, but I think it may be better to have the mods move this to the classifieds. Maybe, I just think this thread will get buried faster where it stands.

I saw a fit sport driving down the road the other day with a normal bike rack on the back--I don't know how they did it. I looked to see if the spoiler was bent, from the distance it did not appear to be. I have a hitch and platform rack on my Sport.

Just did a search and found this Thule rack which fits over the spoiler. It wasn't around back in 2010 wheb I got my rack.

Trunk Bike Racks for 2012 Honda Fit - Thule TH9010
Looking at the design, unfortunately, it likely still won't work. To get a trunk mount rack to work on the FIT sport and not break the wing, you have to get the straps to not put any downward pressure on the wing which means the straps would have to go out straight from the back of the fit to the bike rack. if you do that, the upper straps don't provide any vertical support and then the bike rack would just slide down the hatch. Unless you make it so tight that friction of the pads keep it in place... then you risk breaking the window... and likely it would slide anyway on every bump in the road.

Read carefully and they mention that the rack works well with vehicles with spoilers. they also mention that the rack works well with the honda fit. What's missing is the combination of the two: works well on Honda Fit's with spoilers. (semantics... unfortunately). They mention trunk mounted spoilers as well but never "Hatch" mounted spoilers.

Unfortunately, there isn't goign to be a rack that will not put pressure on the wing itself. The OP is going in the right direction if he has to use a trunk mounted rack. I'd recommend a roof rack as they are more versatile.

OP. Throw it out there on Craigslist and see what comes around. Wouldn't hurt to toss it back to the honda dealer as well in case they know of someone looking for a spoiler (will depend on the dealer - Mine would keep an eye out for me and let me know - many will not)

Damn I have an 09 honda fit base black and I would trade the hatch door with you, spoiler is better for the northeast winters. Unfortunately I'm down in FL until June, I doubt you will still be trying to figure this out by then but if you are let me know.
