Lightbulb New Interior PnP LED Option for 2012 Fit!

So I know there are already threads describing both installation of the dealer available ambient light kit as well various DIY projects courtesy of my innovative fellow forum members. I didn't find anything already posted describing the new center console light included in the 2012 Honda Fit. So I've decided to post some pictures along with my idea for a plug and play LED project to either make more light or provide some colorful illumination. I know this seems like a very simple idea, but nobody has posted pictures on FitFreak to my knowledge. I took this as a chance to help my fellow 2012 owners, especially those who don't feel comfortable messing with the wiring itself:

A picture of the fixture hanging out from below the center dash. Cupholder, center panel, and light bulb have been removed.

The removed center panel, note the three small holes which allow the light to shine through.

Closeup of fixture with light bulb in it.

Just the light, turned on.

I believe I've found a direct replacement LED, more on that soon...

I have an 09, but I bought the 2012 parts (cover w/light, etc... basically what you're showing in the pics) to do the swap, but been too busy to get to it (also been putting it off b/c I want to match the blue LED ambient light in the homelink mod)

Awaiting LED update....

This is one option I was looking at, I believe it can serve as a direct replacement. I would look around the site, as I believe there are other ones which could work as well. I believe the important thing is that it be a T5 or 74 fitment.

What power source were you going to use? I've been thinking about doing something like this using the power from the interior illumination wires.

I'm going to tap into the wires from the ambient LED (from the navi-homelink w/sunglass holder mod). It's switched to come on with the headlights. I did the mod a few months ago, but put the ambient tap on hold till I found time & a blue bulb (to match the ambient LED).

Thanks for posting this.

Any reason you went with the three-prong bulb rather than a round or whatnot that is also listed on the seller's webpage?

I tried putting a T5 in my 2012 Fit and it blew the fuse. The original was a 1.2w 14v white bulb. I will try ordering from the site mentioned above!

Oh yeah! There's another bulb in the gear selector ring....anybody try to replace that one in blue?
