Is there supposed to be a light in the console on a 2012 base Fit that lights up the console auto trans gear selector? The one on the dash works but it seems like there should also be a light behind the console selector. Manual that came with the car is useless for interior lighting.

Answered my question this evening. The 2012 does have a light behind the selector on the console. It turns on when the parking or driving lights are on. My wife's car, I guess I hadn't driven it with the lights on before.

 

Replaced mine with a blue LED to match the paint. It uses a #74 push-in, wedge base, very small, but the LED is perfect, just the right brightness. Got it here:
