Anyone know how to remove the rear head rest guides on the 2008 Honda fit. I need to remove them so i can take the rear seat cover off and work on the rear seat lever release that was broken or has stopped working. I dont know if the head rest guides just pull out or if there is a trick to removing them without breaking.

 

firstly, despite the name of the sub-forum... 2008 USDM Fits are part of the first generation, the GDs.

secondly, the headrest should have notches that lock them in place. but the notches are usually angled in one direction, meaning... you just have to give it a good pull.

however, if it is broken... you'd never be able to put the headrest back until you have the part replaced.
