as far as I can tell... he didn't say no FENDER mods... just no camber.

if he did indeed say no fender mods, you should've quoted it.

They still sell Falken 512s? I thought I got the last set in the nation.

More pics if you're going to make a thread about it.

I have no reason to believe or disbelieve it... it's only what he said.

I've pretty much given up on voicing my dislike for things such as these... mostly because of the absurd "argument" that will almost always occur between those that like it (also consider it safe) and those that don't.

The only thing important to me is... if I feel it's dangerous, that I stay FAR FAR away from them.

Bish, I like it. Let the haters hate. And to all you who point at stretched tires, form a cross with your fingers and go "eeeeeeee!!!" Can you please link or pet some evidence to support the theory of a stretched tire failing because it was stretched? I have seen tires that have failed, many many times thanks to working 5 years in a very busy tire store. I have yet to see a tire failure that wasn't directly related to low air pressure, or some kind of impact I.e. potholes or curbs or debris etc. I have never seen or heard of a wheel just "popping" off the head due to extreme stretch. Besides, compared to what some of the euro and jap guys do, 205/40-17 on a 9 isn't that crazy.

I don't remember seeing anyone "Hate" also, no one discussed a tire just popping off the wheel. Potholes, curbs, etc... which you mentioned are the common cause of failure will have more of an impact on a tire which is not properly mounted (ie. mounted outside of the tire manufacturer's specifications... including rim width, tire pressure, etc...) and will be more likely to fail. This is common sense... any object being pushed outside of it's limits is more likely to fail then that same object being used within it's limits. You can put a 25lb weight on 20lb fishing wire but chances are, it'll break more quickly than a 20lb weight on a 20lb fishing wire.

Common sense says, stay within the specified limits.
