it's a slightly different part number at College Hills Honda
2009-2011# 08U35-TK6-110
2012+# 08U35-TK6-111
I suspect the only difference is the flap which covers the gap when the rear seats are up (apparently it's minimal when the seats are reclined). The 2012 lacks the flap, which some disliked and a few didn't bother to install anyway.
If you want to use a 2010 model cargo cover with the flap on a 2012 car, I don't know if the rear seats will still have the spots at which to anchor the flap snaps. Probably - but I don't know. I'd bet the shelf alone would fit fine.

You can feel around and see if the rear seats still have the holes. Download the install instructions and use that as a guide to feel the spots where the cover goes. If you can feel a hole there the you can install the snaps.
Of course, the flap part pops off easily, so even if you don't have them you can "convert" a 2010 cover to a 2012

Just installed the clips on my cargo cover. Strangely, they weren't in the box with the cargo cover. I found them days later taped to the underside of a piece of spacing cardboard in the box my floormats came in. Anyway...
The clips are hard to get on but work carefully and start at an angle, and they'll get on there. I am glad I got the cover, even though it's a bit expensive for what you seem to get. As someone said, it finishes off the area nicely, the fit is perfect (ha ha), it snaps in nicely to the ridge on which it rests, it raises up when you open the trunk, it weighs little and, perhaps most importantly of all, it does not pose nearly the crash risk to rear passengers that a piece of plywood would. In fact, the topography of the surface suggests that it might be designed to collapse / compress in a crash.
It's probably a high margin item for Honda, but the Fit is probably not so high margin, so they make it up a bit here, a bit on the mats (for base buyers), the cargo tray, etc.
