GE8 Stock Engine Dynamometer WHP?

Hello Fellow Fit Enthusiasts!

Wondering if anyone out there knows what the generally agreed upon Stock WHP rating is (SAE)?

Here is what I have found (none of these agree):

Fit Forum Post:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...o-numbers.html

K&N:
http://www.knfilters.com/dynocharts/69-1017_dyno.pdf

PRM(Gerry):
https://sites.google.com/site/ge8prmintake (bad link)
https://sites.google.com/site/ge8prmintakedyno/

Best,
LRR

Your first will not agree with the second because the first one is for GD (afaik, the post was made in 07, which eliminates the possibilty of it being a GE) and the second is for GE. Go off the second one from K&N. I can't see the third because the link doesn't work.

Contrary to what K&N shows, I remember reading somewhere on here that the GE actually dyno'd over 100 at the wheels (MT) because I remember being suprised there wasn't that much drivetrain loss. Each dyno is different though depending on the calibration and a variety of other factors (which are almost never perfect).

Why do you want to know?

You can't really get an exact number there are to many variables when it comes to putting a car on a dyno. you have to consider temperature, type of dyno, condition of the car, etc...

I had my 09 Fit on a dyno after I added a PRM intake and it made 99hp before it made 94hp but my friend ran his Fit at the same time. It was completely stock and it made 91hp so everyone's results will vary slightly.

Thanks for the info. Fixed the PRM Link above (I think).

Looking at perhaps doing some bolt on mods to engine. Have the PRM intake, thinking of putting headers and exhaust on next. Posted a youtube of a GE8 owner claiming 150 WHP with bolt ons and some polishing of head. Think this is pretty amazing but have since been told on here that this kind of WHP is not possible from NA Fit.

The Fit might be made to have sports car level of performance. Don't like LOUD though so don't know if I will do more as LOUD is what you get with performance improvements I think.

exactly...the only way you going to get to 150whp is turbo. It's pretty much impossible to increase our engines output by nearly 50% while staying NA. Im sure it can be done but then you're talking a complete tear down and rebuild. It would cost significantly more than a turbo engine and not be street friendly.

Atmospheric conditions on dyno day are going to play a huge part in this as well as engine condition and VE mods.

Also, are you referencing a Mustang Dyno? DynoJet? Hub-dyno? What correction(s) are being used.

Don't put to much stock in a dyno figure.

Just use it as a tool and to help quantify/qualify changes after modifications.

If you really want to hit the 150whp NA mark, you are going to seriously sacrifice "streetability" as most people perceive it and reliability will take a huge hit vs just setting up a proper FI system.

NA builds are FAR more expensive as well.

PM me if you want to make a serious inquiry.

So true, it's worth quoting. It's just a tool, not the word of God.
