Okay, here is my problem. I leased my 08 Honda Fit in 2008 brand new. I think it had 14km on it. The reason I was so interested in the Fit was for the fuel economy (i traded in my 2005 Chevy Silverado 305 v8). Fast forward to 2012...I love the car still, it has everything we need as a family of 4 however my mileage sucks. It has always sucked. I think the most km's per tank I ever got out of it was 550km and that was hwy driving. Town driving I would be lucky to get 400km in summer, winter more like 350km. I have taken my issue to Honda and they tell me its all in how you drive the car keeping the RPM's low etc...So thats what I did and I managed to get maybe 10 to 15km more per tank but nothing major. Is there something I should be doing?? I would appreciate any advice you can give thanks everyone!!

550km on a tank would be ~35mpg which isn't that bad for high speed highway driving. But 350-400km per tank would be 25mpg or less which does suck. My difference between cruising 70mph on the highway and around town driving is typically only 3-4mpg. Your delta highway to city is too wide so looks like driving habits probably more than anything account for your low mileage.
