GE Forced Induction Kit - Test Vehicle Wanted in SoCal

I reached out to an old contact that has a reputable tuning shop in LA about developing a forced induction kit for the GE and they are willing to consider it, but want to take a look at an owner's vehicle before commenting further. This would be a trip to give them a looksee ONLY, and no promises made whatsoever. The shop is 15 miles SE of downtown LA.

Interested? PM me for contact info.

PS- sorry this is not in the right subforum, but I'm sure the community would appreciate this getting the most attention possible, so that it might become a reality. Thanks all!

So does it mean there is a chance of being able to keep the setup?

The preliminary visit would be for them to inspect the vehicle to see if they think they can make a kit, and in general, know what they are up against. If you wanted to volunteer for the first actual installation, there might be a discount, but I'm almost 100% positive that person would not be able to keep the kit for free. They produce high quality pieces, and tend to reflect that in their pricing.

Considering all the down time and potential bad scenarios that can come out of this, a FREE turbo kit would be the LEAST you could do for a person that is willing to let you chop and hack and experiment on their fit (which is probably not even paid off)

Yep, if you want to play you've got to pay... Over a period of very close to 6 years of playing and paying, I'm still doing it..

What you see as a sacrifice is not being asked of anyone. If someone wanted to drive there from a great distance, and then loan them the car for the turbo kit, then that is not what both sides need to make something like this work out. You have to hope that someone local is willing to offer their time, or sees this as an opportunity to get a high quality custom kit, in order for the rest of us to benefit. Or pay to drive down there, stay, and visit the shop for an hour to find out something that someone around the corner will be able to do eventually. Try calling a local shop with your idea, and see if they might be interested. It's worth a shot.

I may be able to volunteer, but where exactly is the shop and the shop's name? Not interested in a turbo kit (mainly looking at the sprintex), but I'd be down to possibly help.
