I had the etc throttle controller for a couple of months. It did well for saving gas & hauling you know what. But last week it threw a check engine light. Unplugged, reset the battery, & the light was gone. then I tried to reinstall it. My mistake. I blew a fuse. But I did buy it used. I maybe going with an apexi & see what happens there.

I took mine out as well after it sent out of range voltages to the throttle and the car went into limp mode. Gave me two fault lights and a trip to the Honda dealer. Needless to say it's not going back in.

I fail to see how an ETC will get you better gas mileage? I can see how putting it in sport mode would make your mileage WORSE, but I don't really see how putting it in "eco" mode would make it better? Is the throttle that hard to modulate that it's response needs to be slowed?

I use mine in the eco settings a lot when driving on the highway... The one I have is over 3 years old and has 2 separate boxes, one under the dash tape to the lower panel and the other with double stick velcro that is between is mounted above my console.. The slower response improves my fuel mileage as well as helping out on keeping the exhaust noise down.. I plan on getting a new one that is smaller from Panson because of the extra wiring that is needed for modifications that will take up room near the OBD2 connector.

Hmmm never heard of this. I would be really iffy about messing with the throttle settings. I have more faith in the Honda engineers then a 3rd party small business.

I have had mine so long I forget I have one. A couple years at least. I leave mine at E4. Much prefer this setting to not having one.

Now if I cold just change the bulbs to blue.

I had the same problem with mine. It turned out to be loose wiring which I was able to fix by re-soldering said contacts. If you are interested, here is my fix. You can read the entire thread, or go directly to post #13:
