Hey guys, Ive been experimenting a bit with vinyl around the shop and I think I have a pretty neat idea that I need a bit of help with. Im sure i am not the first in the world to do it, but I did a decal under a matte black vinyl. IMO it turned out pretty rowdy. I have a ton of matte black left from other jobs (enough to do the entire car) and was thinking of doing a pattern under the black all the way down the sides of the car. Most of my friends ive talked to about it thought it would be gaudy, but it is very subtle until the light hits it just right.

What I was wondering is first, what anyone thought of the idea. And second, I cant come up with a cool pattern to do. I had houndstooth on my hood for quite a while, just not sure if i want to do that again or try something different. Any input would be great.

I like subtle enhancements instead of something that is blatantly out there. (like Silver stripes on white vs Black stripes on white.)

Go for it, especially if you get scrap for next to nothing (or free)

That came out really great! Cool idea! I don't have any great ideas for a pattern down the whole car, but if you are bored you can wrap my car.

 

thanks guys, I just didnt want to overplay the whole matte black thing. But I think this changes it up a bit.
