Hi guys n gals ! I have a 09 fit base...
I just hit 83k miles . the clutch is kind of weird...
It releases to fast... just weird... it just changed completely.. does that mean
something's wrong with it??? or its about to??? anyway ive never burned out or put pressure on my engine... just wanted to see how long the vehicle will last w.o. any pressure lol. anyway i have extended warranty to 100k do yall think i should go and ask them to change my clutch ?? b4 i have to pay out of pocket lol ? thanks ... hope some1 has the same car and miles as me on here .. so we can compare

usually, when a clutch disk is worn, it will slip, meaning that the engine will start to rev up without the car moving as much when accelerating in gear. I would have it checked out at the dealership to see if the behavior is normal. Also, extended warranty usually covers defects, which should not be covered unless something went defective in your clutch assembly.

With that many miles on the car, i'm assuming you're driving mainly on the highway? If so, that should help prolong clutch life as well. I currently have a little over 95k miles on my 09 fit sport and the clutch still feels pretty good

Have you checked the fluid to see if it has gone down any? Also are you the only driver or do you share your car?

I’ve an ‘09 Sport with about 90k on it. Every now and again the clutch feels odd on the release. It’s not slipping. But, especially after running on the highway for a while, if I drop it down to 4th it will not engage smoothly on the release. No grinding of gears, and everything works out, but I worry that it’s harbinger of a larger problem. Fluid level is fine. I drive briskly, but never ride the clutch, or pop it.
