clutch problems
have to replace clutch again 2nd time in 5 years and this one after only 5,000 miles, it's crazy another $1500.00! I noticed someone else had this problem. Original clutch lasted me 30,000 miles and I was driving mostly in nyc and now after 5,000 i'm told clutch is out. Do I have any recourse against honda?, it just doesn't make sense. I'm much better with the clutch now so it certainly should have lasted just as long as the original! let me know if you have bad experience also with this. Thanks Tom E
Nope, 50k miles, in traffic every day, and clutch feels as good as new (better?).
I think they either:
1) Messed up the install
2) Defective part
Is there a warranty on the work and parts at all? The work was done at the dealership?

clutch problem
work at paragon honda was done over 2 years ago, so warranty long ago expired. I just spoke with honda customer service and got a case # assigned. We'll see what they offer, but this is crazy, 5 thousand miles and the clutch is out, it's obviously as you suggest defective part or bad install, we'll see if honda helps me out, not sure what recourse I would have if they don't since the dealership isn't going to do anything for me , I'm sure of that, since I never bought car from them. very frustrating, dumbfounding! thanks for feedback. Tlenyc, I'll let you know what happens. Any suggestions with honda customer service?
Not to sound too negative, but are you sure you didn't mess it up?
One normally thinks that, over time, they get better at stuff... but you also have to consider that, initially, many new owners are overly cautious in the beginning, but that cautiousness wanes over time.
On the flip side, things like the clutch do not handle overly cautious very well either. The clutch is a set of friction surfaces... and if you're too cautious about engagement, where you are too slow about it, you end up rubbing much of the surface away without actual engagement.

I'm with Wanderer here, it's either a bad clutch disk or a bad install job.
I've had my clutch replaced after 80,000 km or almost 50,000 mi. Wasn't worn down to the metal yet, and it was still usable, but it was only a matter of time before it would slip more permanently.

I won't even go to that dealership to use their bathroom, they're a bunch of rip off artists.
Hopefully corporate resolves it, if not there's always the BBB.
