2013 Fit Sport: TPMS Problem.
2013 Fit Sport: TPMS Problem.
So I bought my new fit last Friday. It had the "TPMS" light on. The sales man told me it was because of the weather etc. The light stayed on the whole weekend. So I made an appointment with Honda. They looked at it and told me the TPMS Receiver was bad. This is a $315 part. They also had to re learn all the sensors. All in all pretty annoying but I didn't have to pay anything. Just wanted to share my experience with you guys. Hopefully this doesn't happen to you.
It did happen to me (or my wife, rather), Driving home from the dealer (all of 3 miles), the TPMS light came on. Same diagnosis - bad receiver. Still waiting on the part.
Hmm, you're in NH - Nashua, by any chance, bought from Peters Honda?

Peters replaced the module in my wife's Fit but the pressure light stayed on. Interesting about the overinflation - the dealer did overinflate to 35+ PSI saying that if they didn't, the light would come on in cold weather. Think I'll go let some air out and see what happens, but Honda says that the light doesn't come on for overinflation.

Thats odd, Ive played with tire inflation anywhere in between 29psi to 44psi and the light never had illuminated. Its not like its past the tires max pressure since that says 51psi.
Yeah - I don't believe it either.
Dealer called this morning - Honda wants them to install yet another module (which they have to get) and also do a software update. I will be curious to see what happens this weekend when I put on the snow tires (on their own steel wheels with TPMS sensors.) I have the tools to activate the sensors and teach the car about them.
The current state is that the TPMS light is off and the pressure warning light is on. Do we know whether or not VSA is affected by this?

No - there are two lights. One just says TPMS - this is the malfunction indicator for the system. The other has a profile of a tire and an exclamation mark - that's the pressure indicator. This latter is the one that is flashing now.
Swapped in the winter tires and wheels, bought from Tire Rack. Used ATEQ tools to read sensor IDs and update the car computer. Drove it for less than a mile and the light went out. Makes me think one of the sensors Honda installed was bad.
