Mugen Hydrophilic Mirrors

Does anyone know if the Mugen Hydrophilic Mirrors will work with our USDM cars? Part Number 76200-XLFD-K0S0

Hey, where have you heard that? On Mugen's website they state, "The modified curvature of the mirror (RH side - 1000R, LH side - 1000R), allows a wider range of view for the driver." This leads me to believe both are convex... If they fit I may try to get them.

I did a group buy interest on colored film that go over the stock mirror. The film were from Japan and was informed by them that they won't fit right.

If they are both are convex they should work fine, but it means you gotta judge distance a bit more carefully. The mirrors will be something like the ones on motorcycles.

Don't the ebay turn signal mirror housings that are for the overseas models fit our cars? I hear they are hard to install, but only because of the quality of the pieces, not the general shape, although your info is interesting, and could be relevant.

Try 'em out OP. I'm definitely interested in these if they fit!

I'm a big fan of convex mirrors for the driver, even if they are not DOT-legal in the US. I ordered European-spec convex mirrors for my last two Saabs and loved them.

Is hydrophilic a real quality of the item? It attracts water? Why would you want that?

Or is that just a name maybe.

same kind of coating they put on iPhone IIRC, to keep the screens cleaner or easier to clean.

No, the iPhone coating is oliophobic - it repels oil. This hydrophilic coating spreads out the water into a film, preventing it from beading.
