My old car was a 7th Gen Civic (EM2) and at 130k the Head Gasket blew.

Bought a '12 Fit Sport M/T in January and I was wondering if anyone has had any Head Gasket problems?

Another reason I dropped the Civic was that I read their transmissions were not up to par. Anyone ever have a problem with the M/T in these Fits?

 

Some day, some where, someone will or already has. Every car model will have some problems, especially given more time. I think you probably want to ask "is there a known persistent issue with the car from the factory, or is a higher than typical wear item". Maybe some long time members will chime in. For you, it depends on what your tolerance is for repairs on cars. Do you maintain them well? Not drive them like race cars? If you treat it nice there is no reason to think that (any Honda) will have serious issues. But the possibility always remains. At least you didn't buy a VW or Kia. ;-)

never an issue...im a second hand owner and put 30k miles on its near 50k, 2008 5 speed fit.

 

Good Point! I guess, what I am trying to ask is exactly what you stated. "Known Persistent Issues".

The HG issue with the HONDA Civics (7 gen) are common -- three guys in my building at work have all had the same exact problem at 100k-130k. It is all over the Civic forum as well.

Glad to see these arent "common" issues and are probability more isoldated cases with Fits.
