door panel help/question...

whats good fam!

wondering if anyone knows where i can get a replacement door panel insert? i'm looking for the felt/material piece attached to the door panel, taking up about half of the upper part (sorry if my description is hard to understand). i called honda and according to them, i would have to buy the entire door panel, as the piece i need does not come separately....

the reason im looking for this piece is because my driver side is cracked towards the bottom.

any assistance would be great!! thanks

Welcome!

Here is information on door paneling per Bernandi, as in buying individual parts. It seems they do not offer the felt.

However, Member cfran55 did some interesting stuff with their material there, and replaced it with red. Maybe something like his?

Here is mine - link here https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...ml#post1021459

If you just cracked that piece you could hot glue it together when replacing material.

thanks for the replies.

thanks for the link codi, a friend of mine actually did a similar red fabric overlay on his 8th gen civic si, its a nice contrast.

the door panel work you did looks great Black3sr!!
* i haven't tried taking the panel off yet, but perhaps hot glue ( or some other kind of adhesive glue ) may help fixing the actual part. the material is worn and could use some new fabric, but my main concern was the cracked portion at the bottom.

Can't find it now but there is a large tread about this common problem with some fixes in it. Check the interior section for armrest cracked or something like that. Depending on your mileage it may be a warranty job.

There was a TSB for this issue: Armrest Cracked - (Maybe you can talk Honda into a goodwill repair?)

Long thread here on issue: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...nty-issue.html

If Honda does not replace it you could just buy a new one or failing that repair it yourself. I can't recall what the reverse looks like now but I am thinking a fibreglass patch underneath would work.
