TPMS Questions.

So i had some rims on my car, and they did not have TPMS sensors, so the light came on, which i knew would happen... but now that i have put factory wheel on that have TPMS, Im wondering what do i have to do to get the light off? I tried disconnecting the battery.. no success. Any advice would be great.

drive a couple of hundred feet and it should go away. your car should recognize the original tpms and just turn off. make sure its properly inflated too. otherwise, i don't know what else can be wrong.

If indeed those were the factory TPMS sensors. You may need to "activate" them by reducing the tire pressure 5PSI or so and then reinflating. If the car doesn't have the sensor IDs stored, you need to either have the dealer do it or use an ATEQ QuickSet device to store the IDs. You will need to know what the ID numbers are - they're an 8-digit hexadecimal code.

My wife's '13 Fit repeatedly would not recognize the factory sensors, even with the dealer replacing the TPMS module. I put on snow tires on steel wheels with sensors and used a QuickSet to store the codes - worked fine. And then when I swapped back, again using QuickSet, the car accepted the codes and the light went out.
