'12 sagging front bumper

I think one of the landscapers fell on my car or something today and pushed down the front bumper cover. i noticed this gap which i didnt have before...and i know i did not hit anything while driving.

Anyone have the service manual illustration showing where the clips are on the sport '12 bumper? I want to remove it and add some washers or something to raise the front end. thanks.

hummm...so the only thing that's holding the front bumper from drooping down are the top push-tabs at the grill? wtf..

Looks like you found it. There's one in each wheel well, and some clips and 2-4 screws (can't recall) on the bottom. Maybe double check the screws in the wheel well and tighten them as well?

I have a 2012 Fit as well (Base), and my front bumper sags a little bit as well. It's been like that since I got it. I asked them about it when I got my oil changed, and they said that nothing was wrong with it.

huh, is that right. sucks. oh well. my 09 has no sag at all. absolutely no gap where the bumper meets the fender. but then, i remember someone posting that paint was chipping away do to too tight of a fit. lol

i looked at the bumper where it connects to everything and there's really nothing that can pull that part up . i could sandwich something between the crash beam and the very front top of the bumper, but then, the bumper would deform a little bit. guess i will have to live with this.

2013 Sport... same thing on mine. I have noticed some fits have absolutely no gap and some do have it. I even went to my dealership lot and noticed most of them had the gap.

thanks! i guess this makes me feel better... i think.

but i could've sworn i did not have that gap earlier on... not sure why i suddenly noticed it. this is the first real summer i have the car. maybe the heat is causing it to sag or something. lol

Its actually the other way around. Plastic + Heat = expands and closing the gap.
I noticed the gap closes in the warm weather and gets bigger when cold outside.

There must be a way to push the whole bumper up. I'll probably see what I can do next week.

If you find anything let us know... My driver's side has a little chip on the corner from the rubbing...

I will. But if you already developed a small chip, I'd get my ass to dealership and bitch. Thou their usual response is "It's normal"

The chip is like 1-3mm... knowing them they won't even bother looking at it... forget about the issues I had to go thru with them after the LMS recall.

I'd be better off getting my bodyshop to try and lift it when I bring it in soon for some other dings & chips.

Yeah man, I feel you.

I went to 3 or 4 different body shops with the gap and they all told me that it looks normal. One guy said that Honda or any "non luxury" car maker doesn't have pre determined panel gaps. One Fit will differ from the other as far as gaps go. I still think its poor fitment and there must be a way to fix this annoying issue.

My 2012 Sport MR has the same gap. The one thing I notice it look like one of my rear doors is misaligned, the bottom sticks out not quite even with the flow of the car. Will have the dealer check this out. I guess on the front bumper gap I can always put a band aid decal.
