Missing exterior trim?

I noticed this the other day. It looks like there should be a piece that goes here. This is the driver's side where the windshield meets the hood.

It's hard to find pictures of others' hoods/windshields that are of sufficient clarity to make out if this is there or not.

You are definitely missing a piece. The piece of plastic goes from where the A pillar meets the front quarter panel and it curves around to the base of the wiper.

PS....noted we're both from Mass. Where are you? I am in Westfield.

North Shore, so a bit of a ways away, heh. Nice to meet you.

And thanks, guess I'll need to see if I can get that replaced so that the windshield is well-sealed.

It looks like it's part of #20 here, but Bernardi doesn't offer it. I'm planning to get a dealer to do the ambient light installation, I might just see if they can order that part too.

That's not the part you're looking for. It's on the hood page of parts, and it's called "Cover, driver hood hinge", #17 on the view (at least for the 2013 base fit). I think your #20 may be the rubber gasket material for around the windshield (an alternative version of #4 on your view).

I searched all over myhondapartsstore.com and I could not locate that piece.

Bring your car to a dealership, and have them look it up. Should not be expensive at all

Did you have any work done to your car, for example, the lost motion spring recall? The missing part is something they might have removed while doing the work, then lost or re-installed it incorrectly (so that it eventually fell off). I'm only asking because this has happened to other 2nd generation Fit owners too.

If that's the case, you might want to consider doing that ambient light installation for yourself.

Actually I've had the car less than a month, so I couldn't tell you if that was done or not. It was Certified, so I presume any existing recalls have been mitigated.

I will probably contact the dealership, only problem is that it's just not on the way between my house and work, and getting over there during regular hours can be a pain, but I'll see what I can do.

Ah I see. Well, the part is a relatively cheap ~$10 so it'll be alright either way. Good luck!

I would definitely press the dealership to order you a new piece, this should have come with the car if it was certified

It is a really easy install on your own (less than a few mins max)

Good luck!
