What is a good price for a used Fit?
I am looking at a 2011 Honda Fit Sport with a manual tranny and ~70k on the odometer, the owner is looking for $9500 or so, what do yo guys think?
Personally I was thinking of offering somewhere around the $8000 range but after talking to some people it hit me that it's only 3 years old and has around 70k on it
. The car LOOKS to be in good condition, but I have not seen it in person yet.
What do you guys think?
In general what would a decent price for a 2nd gen Fit be with lower miles and a manual tranny? I'm new to this whole used car game so I'm taking a cautious approach since I don't have much money to play around with lemons.

Here is a link to a NADA price guide. Based on their figures it looks like the one you are considering is very reasonably priced. An average
trade in price is about $10,300 with 70k. Normally a seller should be able to get a little more than the average trade in price.

Seems like the owner has already taken the high mileage into consideration, I still think he could get more than he is asking and I feel your offer is lowball. These cars hold their value very well. Just go on autotrader and look at GE fit prices in your area, also look at private party prices on nada and kbb.
High mileage can be an indicator of highway driving which usually causes less wear than city driving. I only put about 5000 kilometres (3500 miles) on my car a year but its all stop and go, cold starts and potholes... Severe driving conditions for a car.
I put on 25k per year, which means lots of highway driving. As MTLian mentioned, less wear and tear than stop-n-go driving. As for the price, I would jump on that in a heartbeat. That is an awesome deal. Something like that around here would go for $13k, at least.
I was on a same boat as you 2 weeks ago.
I recently bought 2010 fit sport auto with 30k miles on it.
my budget was $11-12k
I got down to 2 cars after searching from internet.
#1) 17k miles 2009, $16k from honda dealer
#2) 60k miles 2009, $12k from private small dealer
I test drove #2 and it was in good condition (I always test drive new cars before I buy used one) but my bank won't approve the loan for small private dealership
so I searched again and found #3 and #4 from chevy dealer.
#3) 2010 fit sport auto 30k miles, $13k clean history
#4) 2009 fit sport auto 60k miles, $11.5k one accident
It took me 2+ hrs to get there.
I chose #3 because I drive 40-50k miles a year. I needed low mile used car even though it was little over my budget. The car drove like new car, and after 90min, I drove back with it.
Fit fits what i need...loading 300+ of stuff, good MPG, reliable, somewhat safe.
I wish it had little more power from 1.5L...maybe 100hp per Liter lol

Last month I got a 2010 Fit Sport AT with 50k on it. Paid $13. Excellent condition.
Thanks every one, I decided to message the seller but I never got a reply so it looks like it's gone already, I guess I'll just have to hold out for another deal
I was planning on checking the title as many people noted, I myself drive a rebuilt title car so I know that it can be either a great deal or a terrible money pit depending on who rebuilt it, for $9k I don't feel like going the rebuilt route.
