79 Miles and Already Service - TPMS

I leave the dealer last night and drive around and the TPMS light comes on. I have 79 miles on the car after driving it around last night and I already have to take it to the dealer. Ugh, the anxiety of my baby failing like this is going to kill me.

Edit: It's the letters: TMPS light, not the low air pressure light.

Don't worry. The TPMS in the Fits have been very trouble free to many of us. Many who have had our Fits for years and or multiple Fits.

Check the air pressure in all 4 tires first.

It also could be that the dealer didn't program the TPMS and that nothing will need to be replaced.

Did you check your tires with an accurate gauge? That would be the first step I'd think.

I think it's more likely the dealer didn't initialize the system correctly (part of the pre-delivery process). It includes a ritual of deflating the tires, then re-inflating so they register with the TPMS. One of our other members scored a set of floor mats for their trouble (having to go back to the dealer).

Welcome to the monkey house!

That's what I'm going to see. Like I said, I'm hoping it just needs to be reset. I need to go back anyway to resign my contract, so I'll see what they can do for me.

Have a read of the Honda PDI TSB (this is for a 2010 but it should be the same).

Other biggies are leaving off the "strakes" and "body-plugs."

This and other juicy tidbits are linked in the TSB thread stickied at the top of this forum.

It's a good little car.

Same thing happened to me. On my second day, TPMS light turned on. I brought it back to the dealer and it took them about 3 hours to fix. All is good.

So glad Canadian Fits don't have TPMS. So damn annoying most of the time.

I wish mine didn't have it, but I wish my daughter's and wife's cars did.

My TPMS light actually went off soon after delivery too. But the pressure was about 26 pounds in one tire (a righteous idiot-light). I was too lazy to check the pressures at delivery time...

I drove off the lot with 32 miles on my new 2013 Fit Sport and the TPMS came on. I didn't think it would be a big deal so I didn't turn around and head back to the dealer. When I got home and checked the tire pressure and it was correct I pulled out the owners manual and realized there is a seperate icon on the gauge cluster for the low pressure. In less than 24 hours I had to drop it off at the dealer for service.

It was fixed and haven't had a problem since.

Exactly what happened with me. I'm hoping it's a quick fix that won't take all evening. Luckily they can get me in tonight.
