Time for new tires (probably past time actually)
Hardly ever get a good look at our 2011 fit, being as it's in about constant motion. Anyway, looked today and the tires look to be about shot. Kinda surprised me that they would be that bad at 60k til I went looking to replace them. The originals are only rated for about 35K. Can't complain too much about the originals, but I want more than that kind of tread-wear from a tire. I am ordering the Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max - P175/65R15 84H from Sam's. Total out the door is gonna be $405. that includes road hazard coverage and free balance and rotation every 7.5K miles. I love that free rotation and balance deal.
I wonder if my gas mileage will improve? My wife has had a couple of near 40MPG tanks thins spring and early summer. That is some of the best mileage we have seen in the 26 months we have owned the car.

I'd say you're definitely overdue for tires. You should replace tires no later than when they get down to the wear bars across the tread; in many states, that's a legal requirement. Tires without much tread are unsafe in foul weather and especially useless in snowy conditions.
I wouldn't expect a vast change in gas milage. Driving conditions and style have a much, much bigger effect.

WAAAAY above average. The OE Bridgestones lasted me 25K miles before needing to be replaced. The Hankooks are rated for 55k Miles so we'll see how they fare.

Yup, it is above average, but we tend to get above average everything with all the highway miles we drive. I would say these tires are about 5K past due for changing. the original tires we had on our 2003 Accord went about 90K. Those were good tires. Bridgestone, I believe. I put some Eagles on it next and they weren't near as good. They looked pretty though. I am now on set 4 for that car. The car is in semi-retirement so I didn't need big wear rating this last round.

60K on original tires!
I changed out the factory installed Dunlop on wife's Fit when it had about 3mm thread left at 37K and because it was beginning of winter with snowy roads. BTW, I put on Conti DWS (205/50/R16).

I think I got in the mid 20's on my stock Dunlop's before I decided to swap them out. Went with the Continental DWS 205/50/16 and don't regret it one bit, they're the best handling tires I've ever owned and made the Fit ride and drive so much better. They should have came stock on the car!
