OEM Lug nuts for 2010 base Fit

Hi all,

New to forum. Did a search but didn't come up with much.

I just had a new set of Yokohama Avid Ascend's installed on my 2010 Base fit today. During the installation, the manager of the tire store came out and asked me if I had the Key to unlock the lugs on my wheels. I vaguely remembered the dealer sticking something like that in the car when It was delivered but didn't really explain what it was.

I now know that it was the package that four locking lug nuts came in and the key you need to remove them. They also put the 4 OEM lug nuts in the package. When I moved to retire in south Florida I must have left this in my old house.

The tire dealer had to destroy the locking lugs to get them off and replaced them with some weird looking lugs that don't match the regular lugs that came with car. Would my local honda dealer have the regular OEM lug nuts that came on my car?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or comments.

Best,

DH

Thanks "Black3sr" for your kind response to my post. You were correct.
My local Honda dealer did have the OEM lug nuts.

After reading multiple post on this forum regarding the general use of Locking lugs and the number of wheel thefts (even steel wheels found on the base Fit) I decided to go ahead and purchase the OEM honda locking lugs, like the ones that had to be sacrificed to mount my new tires.

I took them back to the Tire dealer and they installed them back on my car at no charge. I will now keep the unlocking key in my car so I don't have to go through this again.

Thanks again for your reply.

Best,

DH

You are welcome DH. I had picked up a set of locking ones used on this Forum along with another set of regular nuts. I finally put them on and carry the lock in the trunk.

Enjoy retirement. Lots of time to make changes to the Fit. Check out my thread.
