Advice Please. TPMS Rebuild
Fit Friends, I will need new tires soon and my car is 5 years old. I only drive about 9K a year so my new set should last me 4-5 years.
Do you think I should get the TPMS rebuilt now or do they normally last 9-10 years?
I know TPMS rebuilds are usually a upsell for service centers and I had chuckle when a manager threw a huge hissy fit when I declined the rebuild on my wife's 2 year old car but in my case is it worth it?

From what I've read, OEM TPMS should last between 3-8 years, so it's a huge variation in time dependent on several variables.
You could just put the new tires on and take a gamble... or just get new sensors and have the tire shop install them when they install the tires. You can get a set (4 units) for about ~$70 or so on ebay (just search OEM Honda Fit TPMS)... and just have the shop install them, the charge is usually low when installing tires at the same time($5-$10/sensor).
