HID help!!

fit only has 1 headlight for high/low beam. I'm still not used to get low beam turned off when high beams on. anywayz...

Im looking to get HID since stock headlight is too weak even after adjusting headlights up/down.

1. Can I still use stock high beam? with low only HID?
2. Do I have to get bi-xenon HID kit to use high beam?
3. If I use bi-xenon HID, will I able to turn high beam on/off instantly to drivers that driving wrong lane? There are just too many idiots driving on wrong lane and I don't want to get head-on crash unless I'm in tank...

Please no reply on projector headlights....can't spend more $ on it (drive 40-50k /year)...unless someone wants to donate..haha

1. No high beams if you get low-beam hid's. They just turn off when set to high.
2. You can also get high-low hid's if you're really on a budget.
3. I'm pretty sure the bi-xenon/high-low kits are designed to function the way they're supposed to for headlamps like ours?

to the OP about the first part... how were you thinking you would use HID and the stock high beam?

the single headlight for high and low works simply as... one bulb with two filament wires. low beam uses one wire with a cup underneath and high beam use the other wire (no cup either).

so there's no way to just swap out only low beam.

personally, I hate, HATE, those hi-lo kit. those along with people using single beam setups without shields are the reason a lot of people are against PnP kits. If you're gonna go PnP, use the bi-xenon kits that have good overlap between bigh and small shields and use solenoids to move the smaller shield (to switch between high & low). I'm not too fond of the whole "if you're on a budget" part in this case. The hi-lo kits aren't cheap enough to justify using them. What's the price difference? less than the cost of one pair standard H4 bulb? ($15)

that being said, bi-xenon kits use a single HID capsule, so when you switch between high and low or just flash someone, the capsule stays lit up. But for most, the solenoid will move the part the capsule and small shields are attached to. There are a few rare setups where only the small shield moves. The drawback is sometimes the solenoid fails and it gets stuck.

The hi-lo kits use two bulbs (one xenon and one halogen)... every time you flip or flash, HID ballast does a full re-ignite, which will shorten the life of the bulb and/or ballast. If either fails, no HID light.
