Removing trunk lid trim clips

Hi,

My trunk key cylinder is seized and I want to replace it. To get at it I need to drop the trunk lid trim, but I'm not sure how to release the trim clips without breaking them. Does anyone have instructions on this?

Thanks,
Mike

Here's the shop manual page on it. Seems the trick is to remove the "pull pocket" first.

Hey Mike, I have looked into it myself and it's just a bunch of clips

There are some hints in this thread on how to remove it but from the searching I did

Yeah, I did that, but now I'm wondering what the trick is to removing the clips. So far it looks like it's "pull hard". I'm afraid of breaking something.

Pull hard is it. Some clips may break (the manual even says to replace any broken ones). That's normal. They're a dime a dozen from your friendly Honda dealer.

One thing that might help is a set of plastic trim tools.
I've gotten a lot of use out of these. I've gotten a lot of use out of these.
