A-Pillar Trim Panel Removal

Any one know how to take off the A-pillar trim panel on the driver's side? Is there an air bag behind it?

All in all it should just pop off as plastic clips hold it and there would be a small airbag along the a frame. Nothing will blow up if you plan to take it off, unless you hit it REAL hard

Disconnect the battery first just in case.

Exclamation The service manual says...

Uh, methinks the Fit service manual says to buy replacement clips because you will break the clips removing the trim.

I also think I remember reading to use a soft-faced mallet, and a cloth to protect the trim, and hit the trim at the clip's location to break it to remove the trim.

That's why you NEED replacement clips!

Gotta go, the Rolex Forums - Rolex Watch Forum is calling me!

P.S. When I ran my ScanGauge wire from the rear-view mirror to under the dash, I simply pulled the trim away from the pillar to route the wire as needed.

The trim DID NOT detach with even a ruffian tug, I tried, though you may succeed!?

I guess my best bet is to tug as much wire under the trim panel as possible. I am just thinking ahead how to wire the mic and clip it on the visor.

Ive never seen a honda that the clips will break on, sometimes rather then snap directly into the frame, the have little round white clips that clip into the frame and sometimes they break but not usually if your careful. just take your time.

the clips will break on the a pillar because thats what they are designed to do. if you find the instructions for the factory remote start for the ge it tells you in there that it will break and come with new clips in the kit

Loxsmyth nailed it,
when I had the 3 day helm online, it does say hit it with a mallet I think by the srs lettering.'

I highly recommend the $10 3 day online service manual, it has very cool animations
