Button near pedals? Dunno what it is. Help

I bought 2012 sport used and found this shortly after I bought it. I Dont know what it is and was just wondering if this is normal and other fits have it or if its some aftermarket thing. I am having battery issues and was wondering if this could be a drain. I cant notice anything when I turn it off or on.

any help is appreciated. thanks

thats what I was thinking, but like I said I notice no changes when I turn it off or on. Remote works the same. Does it look aftermarket to you?

Yes definitely aftermarket. Dealerships sometimes have alarms in the cars and offer to sell them to you when you buy the car. If you don't buy the alarm they just deactivate it, but don't remove the components. Or that's what i've gathered anyway, someone correct that if i'm wrong please.

Hmmm it would require some diag but it wouldn't surprise me if that was the cause a parasitic drain. When I was a service advisor we had a few cars with low jacks that were once active, but not for years. They would cause drains.

+1

definitely unplug it at the source and see if the parasitic drain stops.

Definitely a car alarm. I asked my dealer the same question several months after getting my Fit.

He said some of the Fits "come" with preinstalled components for an alarm. But it costs money to get the thing activated/operating. Sort of an optional feature.
