New car - what is this button for?

It's a dealership installed alarm system.
Usually when they are selling the vehicle they will tack this on for $500 dollars or something. No real issue, however if it malfunctions it will set the alarm off and won't be able to be turned off unless deactivated by the dealership.
My mom's CRV had one.

Seriously though, if you are unsure of how the alarm works, I would bring it to a car audio shop and have it disconnected or replaced. Nothing worse than being stranded because of a dead battery, getting your car jump started then not being able to bypass the alarm.
