where to buy Hawk HPS pads?

hey guys. I went with some cheap-o pads a while back, and I've really been regretting the decision...although, I did get them just cause they were a stop-gap. I'm wanting to buy some HPS pads for my GE...any place you guys recommend? they aren't on tirerack or summit, or anything.

no, they're not there...as I said in the original post...I already checked in tire rack, and they don't carry them.

Do you know the Hawk part #? If you do, try Amazon or eBay.

If you don't have the part #, find it on Hawk's website. Then try Amazon or eBay.

Maybe you can find out where to buy it on their website too.

I shud ve clarified something, if you enter your car as 2009 and above you will see then listed, put your car as 2007 and you will see them

Yes I have 2013 sport fit, got the Hawk HPS when I entered 2007 and I installed them, they have been used for at least 4 months no problem no fuss

Rabee, how do you like them? Are you using them with the stock rotors? Better stopping power? Is the brake dust excessive?

Thanks,
Dustin

OP what Rabee is saying is that the 2007-8 and 2009+ pads are interchangeable, so if you look for 2007 pads on TireRack you can get those and use those. The post is slightly confusing so just clarifying.

Well well well
I am on stock rotors

No dust and no noise

Pedal feels almost as mushy as the stock one
Stopping power is higher, but not breath taking by stretch of imagination, I don't have an objective evidence of the 60-0 stopping distance comparison.

To get the real improvement in the braking department:
Bigger and stickier tires + better rotors may be + Hawk HPS is good but Hawk HP plus is superior + stainless steel brake lines + DOT 4 fluids

Bottom line the Hawk HPS bite better than the stock ones

is there an upgrade for the shoes in the rear? i know it won't be much as the fronts do most of the braking anyway but if you need to go in there, might as well upgrade.

your thoughts?

Porterfield has shoes:

Porterfield R4-S Brake Shoes Street Brake Pads for your 2010 HONDA FIT - TopBrakes.com

I will probably get these with the Porterfield fronts when it's time to change my fronts. Took a look at my front pads a few weeks ago and there's still tons of pad left at 75k miles, starting to annoy me

Lol, I'm in the same boat. When I was in for an oil change, they said I had over 60% remaining. They wondered why I looked disappointed lol

That is what we call compensation, if you can not make it go faster then make it stop faster.

I remember when I first got my fit, I quickly upgraded to swift dprings
Progress rear sway bars
Enkeis rpf1
Sticky extreme summer tires
Hawk HPS pads
Removed the rear seat
Turn the traction control off
Shift at 6800 RPM
Oil change every 3000 miles
...etc

You know what, the engine is weak, face it, so please calm down and enjoy the nimbless of this FWD miata.
Until the frekkin Hondata ( lol) releases GE8 ECU tune for us, some of us will still feel the small penis ( horsepower) syndrome.
