2012 fit drl fuse kills high beams
Pulled drl fuse to install bixenon retrofit source kit, no high beam function whatsoever, unless fuse replaced. Tried to use e brake trick, but would have to remove warning led from gauge cluster as well as warning beeper for e brake. Both are soldered to the gauge circuit board, and removing the gauge needles would be necessary. I chickened out. Does anyone know another way? maybe a MICU hack? I want my high beams back

Did the HID come with an H4 plug? Or did you have to splice wires?

No Highbeams
yes that's the fuse I pulled, and yes it has a h4 plug on the retrofit kit, 2009 to 2011 don't have this problem, part number is different on fuse box even though schematic appears identical.I'm sure there has to be a way

need more info. what projector and wiring harness? have done 3 retrofits so far and they all work. MD2S, MH1 and FX have all worked with the harness from retrofitsource.com. did you try bench testing the solenoid functions before re-installing the headlights?

i have a switch over the drl fuse so that i can turn it on and off. my high beams work while the switch is ON or OFF.
so, i think you pulled the wrong fuse or something. mine is a '12 MT sport.

Thank you for the responses
Lets see,I did replace the harness with h4 bulbs, fuse in, full function, fuse out,no high beams, also tested hot wire with multimeter, note my car is auto which has different fusebox part number than 5spd car. I'm wondering if this is like the variable intermittent wiper upgrade, some fuseboxes work, some don't

strange. seems you did a thorough test w/ the H4 bulb. how about unplugging one of the projectors and hooking it up to a power supply directly? i test bi-xenon solenoids by having it grounded then touching the 12v power lead to a battery to see if the shield flips away. have you tried that?

no voltage to both H4 plugs? i know that for my harness, i only use the driver's side plug to connect to the harness. try the other side to see if you have better luck but right now, we're just guessing. i still don't see an answer to whether or not you tested out your bixenon solenoids?
