DRL module

Does anyone know if there is a fix for the drl/high beam not working issue with an '09 Fit? It apparently, as I'm told by the dealer, is integral witg the fuse box and is $cdn730 to uy a new one.

Can you describe the issue? Or maybe post a link? I couldn't find anything in a couple searches.

First of all, Welcome to the forum! How long have you had your car? Did you check to see if the fuse is in place? If previously owned, maybe the previous owner removed the fuse to disable DRL? (I'm not familiar with your laws, if it's mandatory to have DRL or not) Keep us posted. Thanks.

Thanks for the welcome!
It is my fianceé's car. She has owned it since new. I changed the fuse, and the bulbs. Still no drls and no high beams. The law in ontario states that if you have them they should work. The car will NOT pass a safety without them. The local dealer wants $730cdn for a new module, and says its integral with the fuse box. She drives long distances twice a week at night and i would like them to work, but $730 plus tax and labour is a huge cost for two lights. I am familiar with the module solder joints cracking and am prepared to do that, but it is slightly beyond my ability to remove a fuse box in a modern car. I am an old v8 carb guy, no computers on board my boats!
Thanks in advance!

The issue is that though the drl light is lit up on the console, the lights are not on. The high beams do not come on, rather they just black out the entire front lighting system.

I feel your pain. I wouldn't want to fork out that kinda of cash for a drl module. Wish it could of been as easy as a fuse. Cheaper options may be to look for a surplus or used module? or keep headlights on at all times.

Sorry, not much help. Hope you find an inexpensive solution..

We have similar rules here about lights working to pass inspection. The shops use this as an excuse to charge astronomical rates to fix simple lighting issues. Most issues like this are solvable given a little time and some troubleshooting skills, but there's the whole "won't pass inspection" issue.

If it were me, I'd go online and find a couple of the blank plates that cover that opening on the base model. I'd pop out the DRL bexels and replace them with the blank plates. That will get you through the inspection with minimal cost. Then, troubleshoot the electrical issue at your leisure.
