Exclamation DRL Indicator turned on?

Just got my HIDs installed last night and didn't have the DRL Indicator on. Later today I turned on the car and then drove less than 100 ft, DRL indicator on dash turns on. I pull over and then turned off the car. Turned it back on then check engine light comes on too. Is this normal after installing HIDs? How do I fix this?

Did you get hi/low or just low beam? If it's just low beam it's kind of expected haha. Just have to pull out the fuse for the DRL in the fuse box.

They have hi/low but 1 of the hi bulbs is broken, could that be what is causing the DRL error on the dashboard? I disconnected #15 fuse as said in other threads. But at the same time, that disables the check engine light too? So wouldn't that be bad? I don't know why I got the check engine light after I pulled over to see why the DRL lights came on.

i dont think it should disable the check engine light, cus i pulled my fuse out and was doing some tests on my car at school. my check engine light still comes on when there is some kind of malfunction.

correct me if i'm wrong though.

Did you pull the fuse out for the DRL? I did this when I replaced my headlight bulbs for the 3rd time. The daytime running lights chewed up and spit out 2 sets of expensive silverstars from walmart before I pulled the fuse, said screw spending money, and bought $5 ebay white headlight bulbs.

They have lasted since February or March.

Futuristic thinking should tell me to buy a spare set, but so far they dont heat up the headlamp housing as much as the silverstar shits did. That tells me they are using less amperage, even though they are brighter then the silverstars ever were
