Painting lower 'diffuser' on sport rear bumper skirt

Has anyone painted the little faux-diffuser area of the sport rear bumper?

Im thinking it would look nice and OEM if done properly (based on some photoshopping I did), but I am hoping there are some real world examples out there. Anyone have pics of this?

Here is the area Im speaking of;

Thinking a light textured flat black, possibly line-x would be nice.

Plasti-dip mine last summer looks great and if I want to go back to original color just peel. Bad picture someday I will learn.

That looks great! Thanks for the quick reply.

Based on your comment, Im assuming Plasti-dip doesn't require scuffing in order to adhere to the factory paint? Just clean it and rub down with alcohol?

Wash that area really good, get some painters tape, and do a heavy coating on well-shaken plastidip. before it dries (less then minute), remove tape, because plastidip lips over and will dry out and tear if you try to remove.

Repeat twice. Mine came out PERFECT!

It really looks insanely good for such a small detail.

My 2013 must have a sport rear bumper (do not know if honda changed rears at all, havent looked it up) because mine looks like yours, and mines a base (and lighter and faster JK)

I personally would not plasti-dip it if I did it to my own car, just not a fan of the finish of plastidip

A local member got his painted gloss black which is what I would do instead:

Mines been dipped for a while now. It holds up well to scrapes and rocks ( unlike paint) since it kinda rubbery. Kinda like comparing a soft phone screen protector (Zagg) to the hard cheap ebay screen protectors that scratch because they don't absorb impact and abrasion.

I agree with both of your points.

Another option is to vinyl wrap the diffuser but I think for me I would just rather paint it if I ever decide to repaint my bumper
